Unified storage with high availability clustering
Gain all the advantages of PowerVault NX3000 NAS and MD3200i iSCSI storage in one high availability (HA) solution. The PowerVault NX3000/MD3200i HA Cluster is unified storage solution with Common Internet File System/Server Message Block protocol and Network File System (CIFS/SMB/NFS) providing file and iSCSI block connectivity.
The two NX3000 cluster nodes serve as a file front end to the MD3200i iSCSI array, which, in addition to the dedicated iSCSI block connectivity, provides back-end storage for NX3000 file shares. The cluster nodes are pre-configured for HA setup with Windows® Storage Server 2008 x64 Enterprise Edition. Each node includes:
- Two 146GB, 15K RPM SAS 3.5" hot-plug hard drives to accommodate a RAID 1 OS configuration
- Two 870W redundant power supplies
- Four LOM Gigabit Ethernet ports
- One Intel® Gigabit quad-port NIC, effectively providing eight Gigabit Ethernet ports per node
The PowerVault NX3000 HA Cluster also provides several pre-configured options for the MD3200i array. These options range from entry-level to high-capacity or performance-optimized configurations.
